Activate Your Student Account/Email
PSEO students are required to use their University email for communication with the University. We will not use your personal or school email. Important: You must check your University email regularly.
To activate your UMN Twin Cities Internet Account, choose an item from the list below that describes you.
If you are new to the University system click here and follow these instructions.
Find your 7-digit student ID number at the top of your admission email. Once you have your UMN student ID number, you can activate your account by completing the "Claim Account" form (unless you've taken UMN courses below; see below).
If you receive an error message, contact the UMN Technology helpline by emailing [email protected] or calling 612-301-4357. Be sure to identify yourself as a PSEO student.
Congratulations! You now have an official UMN Internet ID (also known as an x500) and email. Important: Your Internet ID is the part of your UMN email that comes before "@umn.edu." Be sure to keep track of your Internet ID. You'll need it whenever you log into MyU at myu.umn.edu.
One final note: The first time you log into your UMN account, you'll be required to set up a two-factor authentication through Duo Security. Instructions are below as the next task of activating your account.
For previous University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Students (UMTYMP, CIS/College in the Schools) click here.
If you have participated in College in the Schools (CIS) or UMTYMP at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, you should already have a UMN email account.
If you have forgotten the login information, call our Technology Help Line at 612-301-4357 and ask them to reset your password.
For previous University of Minnesota - Morris, Duluth, Crookston, or Rochester students click here.
Students who have taken College in the Schools (CIS), PSEO, or other courses at University of Minnesota campuses other than Twin Cities (e.g. Morris, Duluth, Crookston, or Rochester) in the past also need to complete a domain name change request so that Google apps (i.e. Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.) will function properly at the Twin Cities campus.
Complete the Domain Name Change Request after activating your UMTC internet account.
If you encounter errors or need technical support in setting up your account click here.
